My husband, Chi, just returned from a 15 month deployment to Iraq on May 3, 2008. It was a really hard time for both of us. War is never good and it took it's toll on us. What a blessing to have him back safe and sound. We made a collective decision to exit the army life. You see, a lot of Chi's Yale classmates had gone to NYC to work as investment bankers, etc. Many of them worked at the WTC. In all, Chi lost five friends on that tragic day. He made a commitment to serve his country and to protect the land he loved so much. Chi is originally from Seoul, S. Korea and came to this country when he was 9 years old. He is thankful for the opportunities made possible by emigrating to the United States.
So, after serving 6 years in the Army as a Captain and the Brigade Comptroller, he decided to go all civilian on us. Through Cameron Brooks he was offered a position with Eaton Energy Corporation in the Electrical division as an internal IT consultant integrating their new company software, Oracle. I have no idea what that means....
all I know is that he will be traveling a lot out of the country and that the position is in Pittsburgh. So-hello land of the Steelers.
We put the house up for sale, the company came in and packed us up and moved us on out...It was a tough decision leaving the most wonderful dental office in the world, but it was the right one. I will miss my patients and the staff so much. I made some wonderful, life long friends there and I will truly miss them.
I forgot to mention that we are expecting our first baby, a little girl, due in January. We are so excited and nervous... Baby is healthy and so am I...
We just finished putting the crib together and getting the room set up, so exciting. I have been feeling well, just a lot of heartburn !! I am anxiously awaiting mom and grams to come to help me!!
Our pug, Baba O'Riley (Riley for short) is not liking the snow. He is such a spoiled brat! He has a definite pug personality and is a stinker, but so lovable.
Okay, off to watch the snow and walk the stinky dog.
